Launch Event & preview - Friday Dec 5pm – 8pm
Saturday 7th Dec & Sunday 8th Dec 9am– 4pm
The designedmade Makers Market features some of Tasmania’s best designers, artists and makers. There is a collective approach to sustainable practices and the retention of traditional manufacturing in the production of works that are both skilful and innovative.
The designedmade Makers Market is held upstairs in the ballroom of the gracious and historic Hobart Town Hall on the corner of Macquarie and Elizabeth Streets.
The market is now in it’s tenth year in this location and includes the works of more than 30 makers across furniture, jewellery, ceramics, textiles, leather print and more who have created sculptural and functional objects for the home and to wear.
To celebrate the 10 year anniversary, the event this year will also include a stand-alone exhibition of pieces from our members that explore how their practice has developed over the last decade, how new skills, materials and processes have changed their practice, and how many things just take time.
There will be lots to see and purchase from a mix of past exhibitors and new faces including Andrea Barker, A Published Event, Artosaurus, Catherine Rogers, Christine Hannan, David and Michelle Rauenbusch, Duncan Meerding, Emily Snadden, Kate Bowman, Kathleen George, Kiyomi Reid, Leigh Rigozzi, Linda Chee, Linda Fredheim, Lisa Britzman, Mark Aheimer, Murray Jessup, Natalie Bennet, Olivia Hickey, Paul Allen, Penny Malone, Prue Quarmby, Rengin Guner, Svend Madsen, Till Julien, and Zsolt Faludi, as well as coffe and other drinks and snack from the the Cutest Coffee Van
The event kicks off with drinks and nibbles on Friday night at the launch event at 5.00pm.
