makers market 2023

Hobart Town Hall,  1st, 2nd and 3rd December 2023

Launch Event & preview – Friday 5pm – 8pm

Continues – Saturday & Sunday 9am– 4pm

This year the event will once again be held on the first weekend of December. We have been fortunate once again to have secured assistance from the Hobart City Council, and have received a Creative Hobart Grant to help with the costs of holding the event.

We are planning on running our event more or less as usual, with our networking event and preview on the Friday night for your colleagues and special customers, The market will also feature a mini exhibition, starters, a selection of prototypes and new work from members of dm inc and DOT focusing on the art and design of dining. We are also hoping to show more furniture and we are keen to hear from designers who may just have 1 or 2 pieces of furniture they would like to display

Designers can apply for either a “stall” space around the edges of the Hall, or an “display” space in the middle of the Hall. The 2m x 2m stall site has room for 1 trestle table, and should suit those who just need a table to display their work, but want to be on the edge of the room. Costs for space vary from $115 - $235,

To ensure the highest possible quality and best mix of work, all applications will be assessed by the organising committee. Selection is made on the basis of supplied images and description of your work/products.

All designed objects and craft practices will be considered, and applicants will be selected on the basis of originality, innovative design/use of materials, and the quality of the finished products/objects.  Your work must be made predominately in Tasmania by you using a range of craft practices and other manufacturing methods.

Applications on line, but applicants are strongly advised to read the application notes before applying

Call for Applications extended till 1st November 2023
