The group was established in Tasmania in 1995 by a group of furniture designers and designer-makers, mostly  graduates from the Furniture Design program at the University of Tasmania, and was formerly known as the furniture designers association. Over the last 20 years the group has evolved and now includes members working in a range of practices including jewellery, ceramics, printmaking, textiles as well as furniture and wood. In 2015 the name was changed to better reflect the membership.

designed; made inc provides a network and information service to its members and supports marketing of products and design services, through co-operative ventures such as designed; made showcasing, exhibitions and other projects.

We meet monthly (usually on the 2nd Wednesday). Meetings venues and time are posted on our events calendar. All members are welcome to attend and contribute to planning and management of our events and activities.
